Art Log 01.
Saying Hi with my WEBSITE LAUNCH ₍ᐢ •̀⩊•́ ᐢ₎
Welcome to my Art Blog – aka Art Business Log – , where I share art tips & tutorials, thoughts & insights, behind the scenes of my work as an artist and designer and much more. So get your matcha tea or snack ready and enjoy a moment of words.
The reason why I want to start this blog is because I’ve always been drawn to blogging, writing and reading. I started my first blog when I was 15 and I shared funny moments and my passion for photography.
Now, after finally following my dream as an entrepreneur artist and designer, a full year after quitting my corporate job and starting my own art business, I can share my journey and many things, that I wish I knew when entering this sphere.
I started drawing when I was little and never got rid of my love for the magic of creating and putting something on a blank page. My first time doing digital art was actually not long ago, in 2020. I have a relatively high learning curve – now doing it fulltime and working in the industry, after just 4 years trying out a digital drawing software.
And believe me or not, digital art is very, very different from traditional art forms. For anyone wondering, it is like learning to drive a car for the first time after only driving a bike around. You know some of the rules of the road and know how to get from A to B, but it is a completely new style of moving, different rules and new roads to drive on.
A few years later, I started a Patreon. I had incredible people subscribing (or how I would call it “Sabscribing”). Even though they supported me through a subscription fee every month, it made me feel very pressured to produce extremely high quality art. I improved a lot, since pressuring myself so much, but at the same time, when I couldn’t meet my self-implied standards, I would beat myself down and feel guilty for receiving support.
All of my supporters are amazing and they are the kindest people ever, but after some time I realized that Patreon wasn’t the platform for me. And when I stepped away from it I started to heal my toxic standard and love my work (mostly).
This blog on the other hand, created on my own page and with so many more benefits, feels like a fresh start. I can go in my own pace and share all thoughts – when my work is going well and also when difficult times occur.
So here will be that fitting room, where I can write about those thing I was eager to share with you. I’m planning to not only share images of my work, but thoughts, tips and tutorials, as well as insights on owning an art business and much more!
I am very grateful and excited to open this new chapter and share what comes along with it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! For anyone new here, I really appreciate you checking this blog out.
